Choice Lists

Choice list data fields are displayed as standard data fields with a message on the status line indicating that choices are available for this field.

Displayed as Windows list box objects. Fields with an attached choice list have a drop-down arrow to the right of the data field. Both the choice list key (by default F2) and the button activate the Vermont Views choice list.
Choice lists do not support logical attributes for individual items; however, the choice list window and data field associated with the choice list do support logical attributes.
Scroll bars are automatically added to choice lists as necessary.
Although choice lists use the standard Windows COMBOBOX control for displaying the parent field in a form, Vermont Views for Windows does not use the standard COMBOBOX pull-down list. Vermont Views for Windows creates a stand-alone list box that mimics the default Windows behavior. This allows your application to retain any choice-list-specific functionality.
