What Is Vermont Views for Windows?

Vermont Views for Windows enables you to develop Vermont Views applications in a graphical user interface (GUI), or to convert existing Vermont Views applications to a GUI. Applications developed in Vermont Views for Windows can run on any 32-bit Windows operating system, such as Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000. Using the same compiler, your application will run on any binary-compatible 32-bit Windows operating system.

Notes:Because all earlier versions of Windows are 16-bit operating systems, applications you create using Vermont Views for Windows will not run on PCs that use these older operating systems.

Any existing 16-bit DOS applications must be converted to 32-bit applications before they can be developed as Vermont Views for Windows applications.

The Vermont Views 4.05 application programming interface (API) is the basis for the Vermont Views for Windows library. For information about how to convert an existing Vermont Views 4.05 application to Vermont Views for Windows and take advantage of the new features, refer to Upgrading Existing Vermont Views Applications.
