About Virtual Data Forms

In many applications, a large amount of data must be collected from the user. Sometimes all the items necessary to enter this data cannot be displayed at the same time on the screen. Vermont Views offers several ways to get around this: virtual forms, form paging, and subsidiary or branching forms. Linking two or more forms for form paging is explained in Chapter 5, "Using Designer Data Forms," and Chapter 16, "Data Form Processing Options." Subsidiary or branching forms are best implemented by writing functions that are called during form processing; see Chapter 29, "How Form and Menu Processing Works," and Chapter 31, "Writing User Functions," for more information.
