When the underlying window buffer is larger than the physical window, scroll bars give a visible indication as to what part of the buffer is currently displayed in the window. On such windows, scroll bars can be automatically controlled by Vermont Views. You can also use scroll bars for other applications if you manually update them yourself.
Since scroll bars are a part of the border, you can only add them to a window that has a border. You can add a vertical scroll bar to the right border of a window and a horizontal scroll bar to the bottom border of a window. If you add both scroll bars and border text to the same side of the window, the scroll bars are displayed. Any border text that is covered by the scroll bar will not be visible.
Mouse: You can use the mouse with scroll bars to scroll through the window buffer.
