Defining Menus with Multiple Columns of Fields

You can define menu fields to be placed anywhere within the menu window as long as they do not overlap. Thus, you can define a menu with any number of columns and rows of fields, as long as all fields can fit within the window defined for the menu form. (Use virtual menus if you want to define more fields than can fit in the menu window. See Chapter 20, "Virtual Menu Forms" for more information on using virtual menus.)

By default, both KEY_UP and KEY_LEFT move the user to the previous field in processing order; KEY_DN and KEY_RIGHT move the user to the next field in processing order. If you are defining multiple columns of menu fields, you may wish to change this default. You can set the form option CURSORFREE to enable arrow keys to move in layout order. See Chapter 22, "Using Menu Options and Features," for more information about setting form options.
