If you want to force the user to make a selection from the choice list, set the choice list option CLPOP to ON and the field option PROTECTED to ON. With CLPOP is set to ON, the system automatically displays the choice list when the user enters the field; the user does not press the Choice List key to display the choice list. In addition, with PROTECTED set to ON, the user cannot type into the field. This can be useful for ensuring that the user enters valid data into the field.
