You will find it easier to locate the source of programming errors if you compile and link your programs with the development libraries. The VCS error reporting system is, by default, enabled when using the development libraries. The VCS error reporting system reports all errors detected by the system. The technical support staff will ask you to run your program using the VCS error reporting system to detect errors. Refer to Chapter 50, "Debugging and Error Handling," for more information on interpreting the error reports.
