Restrictions on Adding New Terminal Physical Attributes

Vermont Views was designed to allow you to define new terminal attribute codes and add them to those defined by the system. In general, there are no restrictions on what attributes can be added, but the implementation of memory-mapped output under XENIX will not recognize added monochrome terminal attributes. Only added color attributes will be recognized. See Chapter 58, "Modifying the Terminal Interface," for information on adding new terminal color attribute codes.

Note: This restriction applies only to physical attributes, not logical attributes.
