Unlocking a Designer Form, Menu or Window

In network versions of Vermont Views, while any user is editing a form using the Designer, the form is locked in the Designer library file. When you try to read that form into the Designer to edit it, you get an error message telling you that the form is locked. If another user is actually editing the form, you must wait until he or she puts the form back before editing it yourself.

However, occasionally problems arise that result in the form being left locked, even though no one is currently editing it. The two most common causes of this are a power failure that causes the computer to crash while you are in the Designer, and a user rebooting his computer without properly exiting from the Designer first. If this occurs, you can use the System Administrator Utility to unlock the form. See the Designer User's Guide for more information on the System Administrator Utility.
