What Is a Memory Screen?

A memory screen is the default buffer for a Vermont Views window. It stores the text written to a window as character-physical attribute pairs. All windows (except those that are assigned a memory file) have memory screen buffers. A basic window has a memory screen buffer that is the same size as the inside work area of the window. A virtual window may have a memory screen larger than the work area.
